Police have arrested and charged a man for a burglary in Hilo last year at the Hilo Armory.

On Oct. 18, a 42-inch Hisense brand flat-screen television was removed from the county facility.

On Thursday, officers arrested 20-year-old Kaipo Anakalea Kahakai of Hilo for contempt of court and for an unrelated burglary Monday on Ponahawai Street in Hilo.

Detectives then linked him to the county gym burglary, police said.

He was charged with unauthorized entry to a motor vehicle, contempt of court, two counts of burglary, and three counts of theft.

Kahakai’s bail was set at $7,050 and his initial court appearance was Friday.
